Meet the people behind FlightDeck.
Our project is built and maintained by a passionate team of developers, designers, and flight simulation enthusiasts who share a common goal, to create the most immersive and community-driven flight logging experience for virtual pilots.
Who we are
FlightDeck started as a community initiative by flight sim enthusiasts who wanted a smarter way to log and track their flights on VATSIM and IVAO. What began as a small side project has grown into a collaborative platform maintained by volunteers with backgrounds in software development, aviation, and design.
What Drives Us
We believe that virtual aviation deserves tools that are as detailed and rewarding as the simulation itself. Every feature, from contracts and leaderboards to live maps and SimBrief integration, is developed with virtual pilots in mind.
Our work is fueled by curiosity, community, and a passion for aviation.
How We Work
FlightDeck is fully community-driven.
All development, design, and testing are done by volunteers who dedicate their free time to improving the platform. New ideas are discussed openly on our Discord server, and feedback from our users plays a key role in shaping upcoming updates.
Our team
Nour – Founder & Project Lead
Also known as Dutch Sim Pilot, Nour is the founder and creative mind behind FlightDeck. He oversees the project’s vision, design, and community communication, ensuring that FlightDeck stays true to its mission: connecting virtual pilots through data and passion.
Mika – Lead Developer Backend & Frontend
Mika is the technical backbone of FlightDeck. As a passionate developer with a strong interest in aviation, he combines precision coding with an eye for user experience.
He is responsible for the core architecture, backend logic, and system integrations that make FlightDeck run smoothly. Beyond development, Mika also plays a key role in brainstorming new features and shaping the project’s future.
Richard – Community manager & Focus Airport coordinator
Richard is the link between FlightDeck and its growing community. As Community Manager, he ensures that communication between users and the development team runs smoothly, keeping the platform engaging and user-driven.
He also coordinates the Focus Airport program — selecting, maintaining, and managing featured destinations that give FlightDeck its dynamic and competitive edge.
In addition, Richard moderates the Discord server, validates user-reported flights, and helps maintain a friendly, structured, and fair environment for all pilots.
Test Team
Our beta testers are the backbone of development. They put every update through its paces before release, checking performance, logging accuracy, and user flow, and help us refine new ideas before they go live.
Join the Crew
FlightDeck would be nothing without its growing community of pilots and controllers. Every suggestion, bug report, and shared flight helps us improve the platform together.
We’re always looking for testers, contributors, and aviation enthusiasts who want to get involved.
