How to Generate a Flight Plan

A flight plan is essential for a smooth and efficient flight. It contains your route, altitudes, fuel calculations, and other important details.

Here on FlightDeck we use SimBrief to generate a flight plan for you. In a few easy steps you can generate and view your flight plan all without leaving the platform.

FlightDeck integrates with SimBrief to make flight planning fast and accurate.

Step-by-Step

1. Go to simbrief.com and log in. This is required only once, because SimBrief will keep you logged in for a long period of time.

2. Head to your Dispatch (left hand list) > Routeplanner. Create a new flight by entering:

   • Departure & Arrival airports

   • Aircraft type

   • Estimated departure time

   • Any route preferences.

   • If a real life existing flight exists for your route and airline combination, a flight nummer will be generated for you.

   • A suggestion for a callsign will be given so you can use this on VATSIM or IVAO. You can always change this suggestion if you prefer.

3. Click Generate. A SimBrief pop up will briefly show up. Once done, you will view your flight plan and OFP within FlightDeck.

Other integrations

We have also integrated the SimBrief route planning to accepted contracts and events. You can now easily generate a flight plan for these routes right through FlightDeck.
