How to earn XP
Here's a quick explanation on how you can earn XP and how much XP you're getting for your flights!
You're finally getting rewarded for your flights
A unique feature of FlightDeck is that you're getting XP for every flight you've flown. How much you're getting, depends on many factors. Here we're explaing more about this.
Standard flight
For a standard flight, you're getting 100 XP as standard wage. Secondly, you'll get 0.15 XP for every flown nautical mile.
For instance, if a flight is 455 nm, you will get 100 + 455 x 0.15 = 168 XP
If you plan your flight with our built in Routeplanner, you'll get 0.175 XP instead of 0.15 per flown mile.
Contracted flight
If you fly a route which is contracted (learn more about contracts here), you will earn the same standard XP as described above plus the contracted XP. This means that you will get more XP for a contracted flight compared to the same flight that is not contracted.
For instance, if a flight is 455 nm and you have accepted this route as contract for 190 XP, you will earn 168 + 190 = 358 XP
Focus Airport flight
If you fly a route which has one or two Focus Airports (learn more about focus airports here), you will earn the same standard XP as described above plus the bonus XP (which is dependent on the airport you fly to or from). You will get more bonus if your flight starts and ends at a Focus Airport.
For instance, if a flight is 455 nm and you are arriving at a Focus Airport which gives you 100 XP, you will earn 168 + 100 = 268 XP.
Note that you can have both contract XP and Focus Airport XP, which will even earn you more XP.
Return flight
Flying a return flight earns you a 25% bonus of the distance XP. A return flight means that you'll be flying back to the airport you just came from. For instance, your first flight was from Amsterdam to Hamburg. The flight Hamburg to Amsterdam will count as a return. A return can only be flown within 24 hours of the first flight, otherwise it will be counted as a single/regular flight.
For instance, if a flight is 455 nm and you are flying a return flight, this will earn you 168 XP + 25% bonus of the distance XP (68 XP) meaning you will receive 168 + (0,25 x 68) = 185 XP.
In this case XP difference between both flights is 17 XP.
Event flight
If you're flying an event, you will earn the same standard XP as described above plus the event XP (which wil vary depending on the event).
For instance, if a flight is 455 nm and you are flying an event route which earns you a bonus of 200 XP, you will earn 168 + 200 = 368 XP
Only real flights matter
Because we believe that flights only should be rewarded if done correctly, you will only earn the calculated XP if your flight is approved by our flight analysis system. Learn more about which flights are approved here.
