Quick start guide
In this tutorial, you'll learn how you can set up your account on FlightDeck in just 2 minutes!
Getting Started
In this guide we'll show you how you can set up your account in just a few minutes.
1. Create your account
Log in my using your VATSIM account.
After logging in, you can grant FlightDeck access to view your VATSIM account profile.
Your account is now created!
2. Set up your preferences
After your first time logging in, you'll be guided through the onboarding the process. Here you need to set up your profile with a banner and profile picture. Also, you can set up how you want your flights to be logged.
Furthermore you'll be able to set up some airlines you would like to fly with. It's important to set these up because your contracts will be based off of these airlines!
If you are a returning virtual pilot from FlightDeck V1, you'll be able to import all of your existing flights from V1, so you can keep track of all of your previously flown flights!
3. Fly Your First Flight
Log in to your preferred flight simulator and connect to VATSIM (or IVAO in the future).
Ensure you have a prefiled flight onto VATSIM and that you have FD-FLIGHT in your remarks (only applicable if you do not use the 'track all my flights' option)
Complete your flight as normal — FlightDeck will automatically detect and log it
4. Let your flight get approved
After you've done your flight, disconnect from the network. Whenever your disconnect lasts for 4 minutes, FlightDeck will start analyzing your flight and mark it as approved. It will do so if your flight meets our minimum requirements:
You've started your flight at your departure airport and ended your flight at your arrival or alternate airport
You've both started and edned your flight with a ground speed of 0 knots
You've actually been airborne
You have not disconnected for longer than 4 minutes
All approved flights earns you XP! How much XP you can earn is covered here.
5. View Your Results
Once your flight is logged, you can:
